Little Gardner

I must be really bored or a lot is happining all at once....probably both. Just wanted to add some cute pics of Owen helping Papa plant some flowers!

It's Hard to Let Go...

Nathan got one of these butterfly kits for his birthday. You send out for live caterpillars and they send you them in the mail. The caterpillars take 7-10 to turn into cocoons and then they stay in their cocoons for another week until they hatch into butterflies. We then feed them sugar water sprayed into cut flowers. Well, yesterday Nathan had to release him and he was quite sad about it....as seen in the video below...(mute my playlist on the right (ll) before playing video)

The Last Day of School

Yesterday was the last day of school. It is always bitter sweet for me because the boys and myself always have to say good bye to great teachers and great friends. I can't believe I have kids starting in 3rd and 5th grade now! They have summer school starting Tuesday for 6 weeks. Usually my boys want nothing to do with it...this year, Justin wants to go and Nathan doesn't (convenient). We'll see how long it lasts....

Here is Nathan with Mrs. Crabtree...one of the best teachers he has had so far...and here is Justin with Mrs. Campbell.

Goodbyes

I have always said that the worst thing about being in a military family (besides deployments/separations) is saying good bye to the really good friends you make along the way. I am going to post a pic and a thought of the friends that are leaving this summer. I wish I would have started this idea right from the beginning of my blogging but the idea just hit me now seeing that SO many of my friends and the boys friends are leaving. Over the past 15 years of being in the military, we have said good bye to dozens and dozens of great friends.... Keep checking back over the next 2 or 3 days because I am going to keep adding people until about Monday......

Good bye Julie!

You became a really good friend to me this year. I hope to see you in Florida this summer when we will both be vacationing there at the same time....Julie's kids have become very close to my older 2 especially Nathan and Noah:

they have become like brothers and have the same crazy personalities. Nathan and Noah want to become neighbors in Florida one day and write a book together. Julie and I always joke that Justin and Isabella will get married one day and we are saving pictures of them for the wedding. They were the 2 smartest kids in the class and both loved to read:

Julie also has 2 smaller kids, Joshua and Sophia, and her husband Al has always been so nice. Goodbye Jenny!

Thanks for all of the fun times we had at El Jimador and beyond! Good luck in Texas! Justin has know Jenny's son Joseph since second grade. They were in the science fair together:

Good bye Melinda!

We met when we worked on PTO board last year. She is one of the nicest people I know and I am happy she is getting to move back to Texas to be closer to her family!

Good bye Ada! (NOT a good picture of her...sorry)

I will remember all the fun times we had at Fun Fridays and other school functions. Good luck in England!

Good bye Amy!

I got to know Amy a lot better this year with all of the soccer games and our son's being in the same 2nd grade class. Nathan and Devin became really great friends and the whole family will be missed. It seemed the whole time I knew her, her husband was deployed to Iraq. I hope you have fun in Texas!
