Today was the last day of school for the boys. This day is always bittersweet for me: happy that the daily grind of homework, studying, getting lunches ready, etc. is over, and that I get my boys with me again.....sad that I now have a 5th grader and a 7th grader and that Justin will be in the Middle School here! It will be a big transition for everyone. I am not going to dwell on that part right now.
The boys had a fantastic school year. They both made straight A's (again) for the whole year. They were part of the Honor Club. Out of the 3rd through 6th grade that can be part of Honor Club (about 225 students...only a few were on it with 2 of them my boys:) Then, Mrs. Watts, the school counselor, was told to pick 12 students to be invited to the People to People Ambassador Program that is held in Washington DC over the summer. It is a leadership program and it lasts about a week. It was founded by Dwight D. Eisenhower and Honary Chairmen include Presidents Kenney, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush, and Clinton. Guess who two of those students were? Right again! Jon and I would have loved to send them, but it was $1800 a person!!! Are they nutso?
