Uhhhhhh......

Nathan drew me a picture. When I saw it, I asked what the funny character in the picture was doing? He said, "He is saying 'I am number one'." Oh, ok....good!

End of Summer Splash

The Fort Leonard Wood library always holds an end of summer celebration with "dueling firetrucks." The boys always have a blast!

Our 14th Anniversary!

Today is our 14th wedding anniversary! It is hard to believe....time went by so quickly! Below I created a slide showing our years together. Fourteen years and three kids later, I would do it all over again! I love Jon more today then I did when I first met him. Sad to say my hairstyle hasn't changed in those 14 years...I need to change it one of these days!!!

First Day of School.

The boys just got home from their first day of school. Justin had a good day but Nathan did not. He came to the realization that second grade means more work! He has a great teacher this year, but one of his best friends moved away and he really loved his first grade teacher. I think he will like it better after he gets into a rhythm.

Here they are getting ready to leave for school and looking thrilled!
Here is Nathan in Mrs. Crabtree's 2nd grade class.

The Summer of Mewtoo and Wizards

Well, the summer is over and the time did fly. Tomorrow the boys start back to school. We had a really great summer. Took a few weekend trips and Justin and Nathan grew really close this summer. They loved sleeping in each others rooms and talking non stop about their beloved Pokemon. (Last year they were into Bionicles and the two summers before that, it was all about Star Wars). They started reading Harry Potter and just started book 3 (Jon and I always read to them at night so we can edit the scary parts for Nathan). I will miss them tomorrow. Friends always look at me like, "Are you nuts?" when I tell them I am sad about school starting...but for me ....it is another chapter of their lives that is now just a memory. Now if only I could get Owen to start !

Just Wonderful

It is 10:18 at night and 84 degrees....in our house! The air conditioner decided to break down this evening and no one can come fix it until tomorrow "around" 11 am. In repair man talk, that means more like 2 or 3 pm. They were kind enough to let us know that working weekends means they get paid double overtime. All the kids are stripped down to their underwear with their ceiling fans on trying to sleep. It feels like soup in here. And tomorrow is suppose to be 97 degrees with a heat index of 100! I guess we will be spending our day in Wal-mart....grrr.

Update: wow! they are actually here at 9:47 am!

Our Last Trip of the Summer

We had our last trip this weekend. We stayed two nights in a cabin by the Lake of the Ozarks! It was so much fun. We spent the days by the beach, boating , and a little mini golf. Every night we would build a bonfire and would roast marsh mellows. It makes me sad that the summer is almost over. Soon the kids will start school again (Aug. 16). To think that I always dread the summer when it first starts and then am so sad when it ends and my big boys have to go back to school! I miss them already!!
